Final Cut Tutorial

So far, regarding Final Cut Express HD we have learnt how to:
  • import sound clips from a microphone
  • drag the clips down onto the editing bar; video channel, audio channel to move around and change
  • import video files in mp4 format
  • create a timeline including the images, video clips and sound clips
  • split the clips at videoheads and move them around/delete them to the trash
  • render particular clips and make the audio run smoothly with the images
  • experiment with different angles on the camera and on the macs
As well as editing the video footage, we learnt how to screen grab images and shots from the video, this helps to back up the work we have produced and explain our ideas fully using specific images. In the recent task of creating a video file with an audio overlapping we used lip-syncing. The audio on Final Cut had to be have exact timing with the video file in order to look like the singers were miming. By cutting the clips on Final Cut it makes it easier to get the audio fitting with the video at the right time and gives an overall better effect.
