We can imagine the song "Gettin Over You" developing as it runs and the beats- done by David Guetta in video get bigger and louder and the storyline gets bigger as well as more people join in the video.
Narrative and Performance:
The video is lip-synced on Fergie and Chris Willis throughout. Other band LMFAO are heard when surrounding "party go'ers" are shown in the scene.
The star image:
David Guetta- DJ has worked with a lot of people such as Akon, Kelly Rowland, and Kid Cudi and is one of the most succesful DJ's of the 21st century. He is shown throughout the video at a mixing desk seen to be replicating the beats.
Three ways to which music videos relate to the song:
Illustration is main method used in this video, we see the artist singing the song and although the lyrics do not always reflect what is going on e.g. "Gettin over you" some are shown "Ima party"- people having a party. As the song builds more and more people are added to the video and this is what I imagine would happen when listening to the song.
Technical aspects of the music video:
The Sound is very much synchronised- we see David Guetta press the button to start the song and the song starts at that time, we then see most of the singers lip syncing the song throughout.
The main shots used are medium close ups, this is on David, Fergie and Chris who are evidently the main contributors. Other band LMFAO are shown in several pans across the screen in the middle section of the video. A high angle shot of David Guetta is also seen at one point as he is at the mixing desk. The movements are fast throughout as it is an upbeat and lively song.
The Mise en Scene includes a music studio and mixing desks and microphones as props. The costume is fairly hip-hop related and doesn't seem to be picked especially for the video, it could be clothes that the band members wear on a daily basis.
